The May Love List

It’s the last day of the month and summer is here.

This is the Love List for May.

On TikTok, I saw someone talking about career path and success and she offered that perhaps when we ask ourselves, “What do I love?” or “What do I desire?” or “What am I good at?” we’re starting at the wrong place.

Perhaps the question to ask is, “What comes easily to me?”

I’ve been thinking about that all month.

I’ve been thinking about what comes easily, what flows like me through water, and where I flow.

I want to feel better on a daily basis. And that means treating my nervous system with gentleness. I would like for my interior world to feel easier.

That’s where my focus has been this month.

I read and watched some things in May:

Worth After Failure

The Fascinating Neuroscience of Scene

An Interview with Phoebe Gloeckner

Mer-People

Jewish Matchmaking (I want such good things for everyone on this show, especially Stuart.)

The new season of Queer Eye

We finished Love & Death last night and we are going to immediately watch Candy for comparison.

I want to go to Palm Springs!

I saw some things:

I’m working on a commission and sharing the process in Reels and on TikTok.

(It’s almost time to collect more moon water.}

I’m also working on my novel, at least at tiny bit, everyday. It sometimes keeps me up at night, and I take that as a good sign.

Tracy and I have been walking in the evenings when we can.

And I’m starting to plan how we’re going to get back to New York this year. Because it’s non-negotiable. I have to figure it out. I’m craving the Hudson Valley like nobody’s business.

Our house refresh is still ongoing, but Tracy has temporarily moved his focus to the front yard, where he removed the heavy shrubs that have always been in front of our front porch (they were the kind you might see in front of a bank.) It completely freed up the energy and we’re thinking of putting a moon garden in that space.

I’ll see you in June.
