Moon Water
It’s’s the new moon in Taurus. New moons mark the beginning of a new lunar cycle. They signal intention setting and reflection and assist us in grounding our dreams and inspiration into daily life. So tonight, I will take the first step in preparing to paint my latest commission and collect moon water.
Painting with Moon Water for Transformative Art
I have a blank canvas on my easel. It's a commission for someone who has embarked on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and growth. The painting will hopefully capture a spark from the essence of her newfound self. I’ll begin the process by wetting the canvas with moon water.
This is how I use moon water in my painting practice:
Charging Moon Water on the New Moon
Tonight, I will fill a glass jar (I just shed a whole lot of glass jars during my clutter-clearing project, but I kept a few!) with water and place tit outside beneath the dark sky. In the quiet of the night, the jar of water will rest beneath the moon and become a vessel, ready to absorb the moon's energy, my intentions and the intentions of my client.
Aligning with the New Moon
While you may have heard of charging moon water on the full moon, the new moon holds a unique resonance in the creation of this particular painting. It symbolizes fresh beginnings, rebirth, and the unveiling of hidden potentials. And it aligns harmoniously with the essence of the art that is to be born—a reflection of the transformative journey my client has been on.
Infusing the Water with Lunar Energies
While I sleep, the moon's energy will infuse the water with its subtle energies. The water becomes a conduit for wisdom and healing properties, a potent elixir, charged with the intention of capturing the essence of the painting that will be.
Whether or not you believe this is something that actually happens, it is something that happens in the ethers and in my heart.
Retrieving the Charged Moon Water
Before the morning turns it into solar water, I will retrieve my jar of moon water from the garden. The moon's energy will now be imprinted on the water, ready to be integrated into the fabric of the painting.
The Alchemical Dance of Creation
With the charged moon water as my companion, I will step into the flow of creation, and allow my intuition to guide me. The moon water will add an intangible quality to the paint. It will add a feeling.
A Painting of Transformation
As the painting takes shape, a visual narrative will emerge, speaking to the essence of my client's personal breakthroughs, whispering to her through symbols and colors. The charged moon water will act as a catalyst, intertwining her energy and intentions with the painting itself, as it becomes a testament to her growth, resilience, and the changes she has experienced.
The process of using moon water in my painting practice is an alchemical journey, weaving together the energies of the moon, intuition, and artistic expression. It serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness between nature, creativity, and personal transformation. Through the infusion of charged moon water, I seek to create art that not only captivates visually, but also resonates with the soul. A reminder of the transformation in inherent in both creative expression and the celestial energies that surround us.
By harnessing this moon magic, my paintings become conduits of intention and messages that speak to my client. As the moon waxes and wanes, my art evolves. and I embrace this mystical dance.
