The November Love List

My mother and I did something completely unprecedented this month and went to California to spend Thanksgiving with my niece/her granddaughter. It was so, so good to see her. I can’t even explain how good it was.

We stayed in a beautiful house and walked in Davis everyday and felt the sweet California vibes. We also visited with longtime dear friends, visited art galleries, walked with the redwoods in the arboretum, and enjoyed the campus.

I watched Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret on the plane. (Loved it.)

I also watched Escaping Twinflames this month and I highly recommend it, as well as Love Has Won. I think it’s important to remember that most people who join cults, don’t realize they are joining a cult. They are drawn to community or the teachings or the energy because they are hurting or seeking connection or love - the most basic of human needs.

I do think it’s a good thing that so many cults are being exposed right now, not to allow us a voyeuristic window into the suffering of others, nor to allow us a space to feel superior to others, but to shed light on the red flags we can all watch our for in our lives when following a spiritual leader or any sort of leader.
